How Does Radon Enter The Body?
It is generally believed that skin acts as a barrier to radon,
so, the only way that radon can enter into a person's body is
if it is inhaled (breathed in) or ingested (when water is consumed).
A person's lungs are particularly vulnerable to the effects
of radon.
If ingested, radon goes to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract
first, then to the liver and parts of the circulatory (blood)
system. From the circulatory system radon enters the lungs
and body tissues.
